Opening Times
- Open every day from 8am.
- After school Monday to Thursday until 4.40pm
- After school Friday until 3.30pm.
- Open at break and lunchtime too.
Doncaster Book Award
- www.doncasterbookaward.net This is now the 7th year for this award. The books are chosen by you and voted for by you. Adults have no say. Previous winners are 2009-10 Colony by J A Henderson, 2008-09 Teachers Dead by Benjamin Zephaniah.
- Events linked with the award include author visits, murder in the library, Drama days and of course the final award ceremony.

- www.cool-reads.co.uk Hundreds of cool-reads reviewed by 10-15 year olds. The cool-reads site was designed and run by Chris and Tim when they themselves were in the cool-reads age range of 10-15.
- www.kidsatrandomhouse.co.uk Book recommendations, Fun stuff and author information.
- www.channel4.com/bookbox Includes a writer’s toolkit, book based games and author profiles.
- www.booksforkeeps.co.uk The Children’s Book Magazine, online.
- At a later stage I’d like to add a lot more to this and also specifically by department i.e. a list of good history websites, Shakespeare etc.

Accelerated Reader
- Take an online test, get your book level, then you’re off.
- This reading programme allows you to work up the levels, gain confidence in your reading and move your reading age up.
- You use reading in every aspect of your day (including in sports) – The Accelerated Reader Programme will help you improve on your reading ability and so will make lessons in all areas easier to take part in.
- Each time you read a book you will then do a quiz on the computer based on what you have read. You’ll gain points for each quiz you pass.
